James P. Ferrone, CPA, PSA, CGMA Director

James (Jim) Ferrone is a Director at Grassi. He brings more than 25 years of experience in public accounting to the firm. Jim specializes in providing audit, compilations, reviews, tax planning and management advisory services to nonprofit organizations and family-owned businesses in the manufacturing and professional service industries. Jim’s areas of expertise include the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and Yellow Book/nonprofit auditing.

Prior to the firm merging with Grassi, Jim was a Director at Gramkow, Carnevale, Seifert, & Co., LLC (GCS) for 5 years. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New Jersey and New York.

Jim is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), NYSSCPA (New York State Society of CPAs) and the NJSCPA (New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants). He is a past president of the Essex County Chapter of the NJSCPA and has served on several of its committees. Jim has been asked to speak and write on nonprofit and ERISA issues. He also attends seminars and workshops in the field of ERISA and OMB Uniform Guidance (formerly A-133) nonprofit auditing.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Thomas Aquinas College. He is dedicated to giving back to his local community. He is an Eagle Scout and sits on the executive board of the Northern New Jersey Council of the Boy Scouts of America where he serves as the Treasure. In addition, he is the Director of the Erskine Lakes Property Owners Association. Jim is an avid skier and enjoys kayaking and cycling with his family.
