Partner Appointed to AICPA Tax Policy & Advocacy Committee
New York, NY – June 15, 2020 – Grassi, a leading provider of advisory, tax and accounting services, announced that Robert L. Tobey, CPA, a partner in the firm’s Tax Services practice, has been appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s (AICPA) Tax Policy and Advocacy Committee. He will serve on the committee’s Individual Tax Technical Resource Panel.
The panel’s purpose is to monitor legislative and regulatory activity on matters related to individual income taxation and self-employment tax. The group is responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities to simplify and clarify individual tax provisions and liaising with the IRS, Congress and other government officials to promote change.
In this volunteer role, Tobey will draw from extensive tax compliance, planning and controversy experience, including his current position at Grassi. Tobey provides tax planning and compliance services to Grassi’s individual and corporate clients and advises them on complex federal, state and local tax issues. He specializes in helping high-net-worth individuals and investors meet their business, tax savings and wealth preservation goals.
