Raymond L. Anstiss Jr. (Ray) is a Partner at Grassi, serving as the Managing Partner of the Chelmsford Office and Boston Market Leader. He provides audit, tax and consulting services to closely held businesses across a variety of industries, including high-tech, manufacturing, distribution, construction, professional services, employee benefit plans and nonprofits. Ray also has extensive experience with the design and implementation of stock option and retirement plans, mergers and acquisitions, strategic operating budgets, and providing outsourced CFO services.

Ray began his career in public accounting as a member of the audit staff in the Boston office of KPMG. In 1993, he joined Anstiss & Co., where he successfully led the firm to recognition as one of the top 30 accounting firms in Massachusetts. In 2025, the firm merged with Grassi.

Ray serves as a member of several private company Boards of Directors and Advisory Committees, including FIDUS Investment Corporation. He is also a Director at Tufts Medicine, where he chairs the Audit Committee, and if the immediate past Board Chair of Lowell General Hospital. Ray’s past board memberships include Bishop Guertin High School, Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Merrimack Valley, D’Youville Senior Care, Inc., Whistler House Museum, and Saints Medical Center. He was also the inaugural recipient of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award.

Ray is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPAs). He earned his Master of Business Administration with highest honors from the University of Notre Dame and his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Providence College.
