Donald Zidik, CPA Tax Principal
Donald Zidik is a Principal in Grassi’s Tax practice and has more than 20 years of experience in tax planning and compliance services for businesses and individuals. Don specializes in helping closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals meet their tax-savings and wealth-transfer goals. His areas of expertise include tax controversy and IRS representation, estate and gift tax planning, fiduciary taxation and retirement planning.
Don advises partnerships and corporations on the most effective strategies to mitigate tax obligations on the federal, state and local level. He has extensive expertise in tax structuring, credits, incentives and return preparation for businesses in the real estate, professional services, healthcare, nonprofit and manufacturing sectors.
Prior to joining Grassi, Don held leadership roles in the tax departments at Big Four, national and local accounting and advisory firms. He also has experience working within the trust department of a large financial institution.
Don is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the AICPA Trust, Estate and Gift Tax Technical Resource Panel and the AICPA Virtual Currency Task Force. He is a past member of the AICPA Tax Executive Committee and past chair of the AICPA Individual and Self-Employed Tax Panel. He is also a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, ProVisors networking group, and UMass Club, Boston Chapter.
Don has spoken on a wide range of tax topics for the AICPA and other professional organizations and has authored articles in many professional tax journals. He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post and other leading publications.
Don is actively involved in his community. He is Treasurer and Board Member for the Children’s Dyslexia Center Boston North and sits on the Board of Advisors for the Charles River Watershed Association.
Don earned an M.S. in Taxation from Bentley University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the AICPA.
