Robert Bernstein is a partner at Grassi and member of the firm’s Cannabis Advisory Group. He offers tax and consulting advice to professionals in all sectors of the cannabis industry, including medical and adult use dispensaries, industrial hemp growers, CBD companies, technology providers, landowners and investors.

Robert has the knowledge and experience to help companies navigate the many tax, operational and regulatory challenges of the cannabis industry. He has advised vertically integrated cannabis companies, multi-state operators, private equity firms and family offices investing in this market.

Robert lends his expertise to the cannabis industry by speaking and authoring articles on topics such as valuation, cybersecurity, tax matters and legal issues. He has participated in panel discussions at the NYSSCPA’s Cannabis Symposium and HighNY. He is also a member of WomenGrow, an organization that helps women network and build relationships within the cannabis space. Robert has been quoted in The Street and other publications for his insights into the cannabis industry.

Prior to joining Grassi, Robert owned his own public accounting firm, Bernstein and Seidman, which merged into Grassi in 2017. His past experience also includes serving as CFO and business owner, advising on industry-specific software selection, and consulting on tax-advantaged entity formation.

Robert graduated from Pace University with a BBA in Accounting and received his JD degree from Touro Law School. He is a certified public accountant and was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in1987.
